Located fortuitously where the high plains meet the Snowy Range Mountains, Centennial, Wyoming (altitude 8074 feet), has lots to offer the outdoor enthusiast throughout the year.
In the spring, summer, and fall, the area is filled with hikers, mountain bikers, and all-terrain vehicle riders who enjoy exploring the multitude of trails in the area. Those interested in fishing find plenty of trout to keep them occupied in the numerous rivers, streams, and lakes around Centennial and in the nearby Medicine Bow National Forest, a Wyoming state park.
Motorcycle enthusiasts enjoy exploring the road over the pass – The Continental Divide runs right through Medicine Bow National Forest.
In the fall, hunters come out here for elk, deer, birds, small game, bear, and even mountain lion.
And don’t forget about winter in Southeast Wyoming! Opportunities abound for those who like to snow shoe or cross country ski. Just four miles up the road, the Snowy Range Ski Area offers affordable downhill skiing, including lessons for those who are so inclined. Snowmobiles can be rented and trails for these extend in all directions around Centennial.
